Congress Leader Criticizes TMC's Candidate List and Alleges Political Calculations

top-news

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) following the release of their candidate list for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal. Chowdhury's comments come in response to the inclusion of former cricketer Yusuf Pathan as a candidate from Berhampur constituency by Mamata Banerjee's party.

Chowdhury criticized the TMC for not nominating Pathan to the Rajya Sabha if they truly wanted to honor him, implying that the move to field him in the Lok Sabha was politically motivated. He accused Mamata Banerjee of orchestrating a strategy to polarize voters and assist the BJP by selecting Pathan as a candidate.

The Congress leader also lambasted Banerjee for the sudden announcement of the candidate list without consulting the other parties in the INDIA alliance. He accused Banerjee of betraying the trust of other political parties and suggested that her decision to break away from the alliance was driven by a desire to avoid upsetting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chowdhury's remarks underscore the growing rift between the TMC and Congress in West Bengal, with tensions escalating over seat-sharing arrangements and strategic alliances. The release of the TMC's candidate list, which includes both seasoned politicians and new faces, has further intensified the political landscape in the state ahead of the elections.
